Jim
Hey guys! Got a Vauxhall Astra here. When the fuel level gauge reader reaches the green marker, my car won't start. In other words, it seems like there's no fuel in the car. I have to top up my car with fuel and it starts fine after that. This has only happened recently, the fuel gauge should go down to the 0 for the fuel to be completely empty. Anyone have any ideas why this problem is accruing? Notes: - Fuel gauge reader does go to 0 when car is switched off. - The green marker (which I drew for demonstration purpose) is when the fuel lamp illuminates. - Its been happening for few weeks now, has been fine for the last few years. Miky
An educated guess would be either a faulty sender unit on tank or faulty gas gauge. Check with ohm meter for specified resistance. I'd check tank sender first.
