Lambda sensor: What´s the cost to replace?

I have never seen more than one sensor fail at a time. 98% of the sensors that are replaced are not bad. This is my experience and I also saw it confirmed in a report from an auto supplier. The 2 sensors in the exhaust manifold affect the fuel mixture. When they go out the fuel mixture goes rich which causes a loss of fuel economy and can make black smoke out the tailpipe. The computer can run the fuel injection so rich it floods the engine out and does not want to run. The 2 sensors after the converters are simply monitors for emissions and have no affect on the running of the engine. They will set codes for catalytic converter efficiency being low.
