Jim
Need help! 2008 f150 4.6l Was having code issues. brought to mechanic turns out it was a faulty power steering switch/pressure sensor was causing a low voltage issue on the 5v reference to egr which caused numerous codes. It was fine for a month or so and happened again. Installed new switch was good for another month and jjust happened again last night. Is it possible to bypass the power steering switch altogether and be done with the issues causing codes?
Miky
That is a good indication.. I would perform a resistance test on the EGR sensor. Look at the connector and wire to be sure there is not something there that is causing the short. If everything is good then it looks... Messed up above and big fingers. Scratch the line about the EGR sensor. Does not apply. Look at the pressure sensor connector and test the sensor with an ohmmeter. Since it is new you can also warranty it. I would test the new one before installing to see what it tests.
